Project Management and Cross Collaboration Experience

Emeritus (April 2021 - May 2023)

At any given point of my prior position at Emeritus, I may be involved in the following responsibilities, simultaneously. This processes showcases my ability to manage more than one project and several parts of those projects with different departments across the organization.

Faculty kick-off

  • Led by Design Heads, provides faculty with a high-level overview of our design process, and confirms high-level course outline; indicates that a course has moved from pipeline to design.

Marketing kick-off

  • Occurs during planning; the design team presents the course outline to the marketing team/business heads and checks alignment with the intent of the course scope and audience determined with the partner university.

Planning with faculty:

  • Lead designer completes the template in collaboration with the faculty to plan the course and module structure. They determine key learning outcomes and develop learning activities and inputs.

Filming

  • Design team films green screen videos with the faculty. This is completed after the design of the course content (or after each phase of design for long-form courses).

Course flow creation

  • The design team creates a detailed course structure plan to guide the LMS build. This is completed after filming and in parallel with the post-production of video assets. During this time, the designer also works with the course SME(s) to develop learning activities aligned with the module learning outcomes.

Quality Management + Quality Check

  • Trained designers review the course documents against the QM rubric. This will take place prior to the first run of the course for short certs and prior to each phased release for long-form courses.

Marketing inputs

  • The design team shares the course structure, learning outcomes, pedagogy, unique elements, etc. as inputs for marketing collaterals—approximately 90 days prior to launch for short certs and 120 days prior to launch for long-form courses.

Post-production

  • The post production team and designer creates/develops all the video and non-video assets for the course.

LMS setup

  • The design team sets up the course on Canvas. This is an ongoing process as post-production and course flow development are completed for each week.

Design Lockdown

  • Design team finishes major course production work; major feedback beyond this point is earmarked for the subsequent runs of the course

Program Advisors training

  • The lead designer trains the sales team (known as Program Advisors) on the unique elements of the course.

Design Delivery handoff

  • Designers complete the course handbook to inform the delivery team regarding important elements of the course design, as well as input information into the Wrike task for the DDH.

Delivery Kickoff

  • The delivery team sets up this meeting to check course launch readiness and other logistics.

Pre- and Post-launch activities

  • The design team performs a final QC and releases the course to the delivery team.
